This issue of MikroPolyphonie features the music from Romania, in particular works by Anatol Vieru (1926-1998), Tiberiu Olah (1928-2002), Maia Ciobanu (b.1952) and Dan Dediu (b.1967). These Romanian composers form a good cross-section of styles, and all experienced both the deprivation of opportunity during the communist times and the relative freedom of a democratised society (for more details please see Joel Crotty's editorial).
