The National Library has a significant and growing collection of
materials relating to dance in Australia. The dance collection is held
in various of the National Library's collections, and is particularly
rich in manuscript, pictorial, oral history and ephemera material.
This month's cover photograph features the work of choreographer and
director Gideon Obarzanek who, with choreographer Garry Stewart,
founded the contemporary dance company Chunky Move. Obarzanek's
productions are characterised by an episodic eclecticism which reflects
the energetic diversity of popular culture.
