Emily Macarthur (1806-1880) was the wife of James Macarthur (1798-1867)
of Camden Park, New South Wales. This image of their daughter Elizabeth
and her dog is drawn from Emily's private album, containing 58 pages of
mounted watercolours, drawings, photographs, letters and prints. Some
are attributed to Conrad Martens, who taught Elizabeth; some are by
family members, friends and acquaintances. Elizabeth (1840-1911) was
the Macarthur's only child.
