Charles
Denison King AM (1909-1991), better known as Deny King, was one of the
great bushmen of the twentieth century. He discovered and described
several previously unknown species of Tasmanian flora. In 1937 and
1965, King discovered the only two plants ever known of what was
eventually named Lomatia tasmanica. He was recognised for his unique
find in the plant's common name, Kings lomatia or Kings holly.
