Over
the past quarter of a century the Wesfarmers Collection has grown to be
one of the largest and most important corporate collections in
Australia. For the first time, visitors to the National Library will be
able to see highlights of this exceptional collection--normally housed
in Perth--that have been curated into an exhibition based on
interpretations of the sublime.
Sublime: 25 Years of the
Wesfarrners Collection of Australian Art contains paintings, prints and
photographs by 47 Australian artists including Frederick McCubbin,
Arthur Streeton, Joy Hester, Arthur Boyd, Ian Fairweather, Rover
Thomas, Emily Kngwarreye, Rosalie Gascoigne and Bill Henson.
