KIM SANDERS

Kim Sanders

Kim Sanders has been a cane-cutter, documentary film researcher and meatworks labourer. He has also studied/performed/recorded in Turkey, the Balkans, West Africa, Indonesia and China. He plays ney (Dervish flute), kaval (Balkan flute), mey/duduk (Turkish/Armenian reed), gaida (Balkan bagpipe), sax, tapan (Balkan drum)...and aardvark He has played with Gypsy wedding bands in Macedonia, in mosquito-ridden nightclubs in Gambia, tiny tavernas in Greece and concert-halls from Beijing to Bandung. He even played at the wedding of the second-in-charge of the Nevsehir Drug Squad in Central Turkey. That was a wierd gig.

SASS

SASS

SASS are Sarah Watson and Siobhan Kranz both girls live in Ipswich QLD. SASS began performing together in 2002 and had their first Gig at the Ipswich Kaleidoscope festival. Since then they have gone from one event to the next amazing audiences with their beautiful, powerful voices and rich harmonies. Sarah also plays flute and guitar.

MERRILYN SIMMONS

Merrilyn Simmons

Merrilyn Simmons was sacked from piano lessons at the age of seven for making up her own tunes. She still can't help herself, and has produced a fine debut album 'Earthbound', featuring some of Melbournes finest musicians. She is currently recording a follow up album, due for release later this year. She performs at festivals and venues all over the country with various line ups, and also works with chiuldren in refuges to encourage them to make up their own songs.

JUDY SMALL

Judy Small

Judy Small is a well loved contemporary singer-songwriter whose music is performed world-wide. Her songs are sung with emotion, ranging from humour, through anger to compassion. There are songs of conscience and songs of love. Judy's musical roots are in the folk tradition, but her distinctive style embraces elements of many other styles including blues, jazz and country.

Jackie Luke & Greg Wilson make up this unique duo featuring the sweet sounds of the Harp & Hammered Dulcimer. A rich and varied repertoire including music from Australia, North America, the Celtic countries, and Greece. Into the mix goes original song with Irish Bouzouki, Button Accordian, and Concertina. A musical feast to put a spring in your step!

BRODERICK SMITH

Broderick Smith

Broderick sings, plays harmonica, guitar and banjo. He writes his own material and performs other songwriter's material as well. He's released twelve albums to date, six under his own name, recording both here, in Canada and the US. He has recorded with Cat Stevens, Jimmy Barnes, Steve Cropper, The Memphis Horns, Buffy Saint Marie, Phil Ochs, Tommy and Phil Emmanuel. The list goes on and on. Broderick and his partner, Mick Ahearne, carry their own Bose state of the art public address system and prefer to play 80 to 100 seat venues as it creates a good intimate atmosphere.

SNAKE GULLY

Snake Gully

Long-established Cairns-based 4 piece, who have been described as an acoustic Bushwackers. Snake Gullyıs extensive repertoire of traditional and original songs and tunes chronicle Australia's cultural heritage in a fun way. Many of their songs relate directly to Far North Queensland. They have toured international in recent years, performing at big festivals in Japan, China and Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Estonia.

SPINDRIFT

spindrift

Spindrift are based in Mackay having three members in the band, playing a variety of styles of music, at a variety of venues. Sue plays violin, recorder and does back up vocals, Ken plays guitar and lead and back up vocals and Rosemary is on bass guitar, recorder and lead and back up vocals. They are involved in the local Mackay folk club and are regular performers at the Wintermoon folk festival which is held near Calen which is near Mackay.

DANNY SPOONER

DANNY SPOONER

Danny Spooner has been declared a living national treasure. His interest in British folksong was awakened at the age of 13 by his master on a River Thames sailing barge. During his 30 years in Australia, Danny has used his immense singing repertoire to teach British History and literature in universities and schools, and has added a range of Australian folk songs both traditional and contemporary.

SPOT THE DOG

Spot The Dog's distinctive blend of roots music is drawn from the deep traditions of Celtic, folk, and rock to produce an eclectic mix of original, compelling, "contemporary adult" music. Thought provoking lyrics on modern day life, love, parenthood and confronting social issues are woven into a fabric of slick rhythmical musical arrangements. The outstanding vocals of Helen McGreevy sit above melodic harmonies and an interplay of fiddle, mandolin, piano and guitar with rhythm and energy coming from tight bass and drum lines. In among their songs you are sure to find a story about you or someone you know.
