Aardvarkers Poetry Group

Seeking people of all ages to share and workshop poems.  The Aardvarkers Poetry Group was established in 1992 and has self published seven anthologies to date.  Our aim is to strengthen the poet's spirit & voice.

Several readings and poetry sprints are held during the year. The council organises three popular, nationwide writing competitions annually: Youth Writes, Martha Richardson Poetry Medal, and Southern Cross Literary Competition. Entry and membership forms are available online. The BWC conducts the Ballarat Writing Festival every October.

Meet: Fourth Tuesday evening each month.

Currently has 13 members. Members set themselves writing tasks, which they collectively review. Their first anthology was printed in September 2004. Members also share their own projects for group criticism and appraisal. As funds permit, guest authors are invited to inspire and the group also organises an annual workshop for the community. The group has a fortnightly space in the local newspaper to air their writing.
