Wentworthville

Sydney Western Suburbs - Very Safe Labor 15.4%

MP Pam Allen (ALP), who in 1999 returned to the seat she was first elected to in 1988, though with the seat first abolished and then re-created by redistributions, she was MP for Blacktown 1991-99.

Profile Outer-western suburbs between Parramatta and Blacktown. It includes Wentworthville, Old Toongabbie, Toongabbie, Pendle Hill, Girraween and parts of Greystanes, Northmead and Winston Hills. Also includes Prospect Reservoir.

History/Trivia Wentworthville last existed 1962-91, and its only two members were Ernie Quinn 1962-88, and Pam Allen 1988-91. When Wentworthville was abolished before the 1991 election, Allen shifted to contest Blacktown, returning to Wentworthville at the 1999 election.

2-Party Booth Result Labor majorities in 18 of 19 booths used in 1999, the Labor vote ranging from 49.4% at Northmead High School to 71.8% at Wentworthville Public School.
