The City West Taskforce

The City West Task Force is a joint initiative of the Queensland Government and Brisbane City Council. The Task Force has an independent Chairman - Mr Chris Buckley, a Past-President of the Planning Institute of Australia - and is made up of representatives of Queensland Government departments, Brisbane City Council, and key private sector organisations (see Task Force Membership).

The Task Force has a charter (see Terms of Reference)to produce a framework for the future integrated development of the City West area and to advise the Government and Council on ways to better integrate State and Local Government planning and development.

The work of the Task Force sets a new benchmark for cooperative planning between the Queensland Government and Brisbane City Council.

The City West Task Force has produced a draft strategy (see City West Strategy) to guide future planning and development in the City West Precinct.
