Ten Minutes of Passion

Radio producers and sound artists from across Australia have melded archival audio and contemporary sound to explore love, anger and obsession - the emotions of passion.

The ten 10-minute mini-features, documentaries and soundscapes are available free to all CBAA affiliated radio stations for broadcast in their local programming.

Program makers have explored topics as diverse as protest, song, cultural identity and 'gunzels' (bus enthusiasts) by combining five minutes of historical audio from the National Collection of the National Film and Sound Archive, with five minutes of contemporary audio sourced by the program maker. Read about the programs.

An initiative of the Recorded Sound section of the National Film and Sound Archive, Ten Minutes of Passion will be distributed through the Community Radio Satellite (ComRadSat) on 2 and 9 November 2005 at 11:04 in the Extras 1 slot. CBAA radio stations not affiliated with the ComRadSat can download programs or request a CD of the series through the get programs section of this site.
