new artistic director for cyt!!

The artists and staff of Canberra Youth Theatre, and the members of its Artistic Steering and Management Committees will embark on a whole new journey when they farewell Linda McHugh from the company on Friday and welcome theatre maker and educator Ms Pip Buining to the position of Artistic Director.
Pip has worked with young performing artists since she began teaching theatre in 1994. She has run workshops and projects across a vast array of performance forms and styles and with many diverse techniques and approaches. She was Affiliate Dramaturg at the Sydney Theatre Company (STC) for five years between 1996 - 2001. A highly qualified and enthusiastic practitioner she holds a Bachelor of Education and a Masters in Theatre Studies and has studied Film Production at New York University and Script Editing at AFTRS.
She is currently working as Assistant Director on a new Australian work, The Prince of Brunswick East by Alex Broun, which opens in May at The Old Fitzroy in Woolloomooloo.
Pip will take up the position of Artistic Director of Canberra Youth Theatre on May 1, 2006.

Enrolments remain open for "Alien Ninja Basket Weavers", "Drama, Drama, Theatre" and "Mother never Knew" until March 17. Enrolments for "4 Little Girls" at Gorman House and "Shorts" at Gorman House and Tuggeranong Arts Centre remain open until April 13.

Canberra Youth Theatre is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Artistic Director. The Artistic Director is responsible for and manages the design and delivery of a comprehensive workshop, project and production program.

OK the program is up on the site and there's plenty for everyone. Lots of fab projects so have a good read.
