Overview The C-CELT has a focus on practical methods, techniques, and strategies that will work for you in the classroom. It is especially suitable if you are an SMP or SMA teacher, but it is also suitable for SD teachers, and there is a Young Learners module which focuses specifically on teaching children aged 6-12. There is an extensive range of modules, each of 1 week (30 hours) duration. The modules combine classroom input, guided observations of experienced teachers, and the opportunity to plan and deliver short English language lessons either to other participants (peer-teaching) or to a group of ‘real’ students. You will receive guidance and feedback from experienced IALF tutors. Course Structure The C-CELT is modular. Each module is 5 days, Monday – Friday, covering 30 hours of classroom input sessions, tutorials, guided observations, and teaching practice. Modules are delivered at regular intervals throughout the year at IALF Bali, and by arrangement, at IALF Jakarta and IALF Surabaya. We can also deliver modules at your school or college, by arrangement – contact us for more information. 2010 C-CELT Schedule

IALF C-CLIL (Certificate in Content and Language Integrated Learning) |
Overview
The current trend of the internationalization of education, which involves content such as maths or science being taught in a foreign language, brings many challenges for both content teachers and lecturers and for English teachers here in Indonesia.
CLIL is an approach with a particular methodology that focuses on developing confident learners with enhanced academic, cognitive and communicative skills. It may involve the subject teacher/lecturer delivering content in English, or an English teacher having to teach other discipline material, or the two working together to deliver a content-based course in English. This has implications for language development, teaching methodology, as well as assessment and evaluation in the classroom.
The C-CLIL has been designed to meet the needs of teachers and lecturers who have to teach content-based material in English.

ELT Management Workshops & Modules |
Overview
If you are thinking of applying for a position as a DOS, or have recently taken up a DOS or supervisory position, you will need to develop new skills – or re-work existing skills so that they are appropriate for your new responsibilities. Many skills that we develop as teachers can be applied when we move into management, for example: lesson & syllabus planning, mentoring less experienced teachers, presenting etc. These skills, however, need some creative transformation so that can become confident managers of people and courses.
IALF Managers have put together a series of workshops (which can also be developed into 1-week modules), based on their own experiences, to assist you in bridging the gap between teaching and managing and to help you to build on the strengths you have developed as a teacher and a trainer.
Workshop Topics
Introduction to ELT Management
This workshop introduces you to the principles of language centre management, and explores practical approaches to managing your staff, your environment and your courses.
Coaching & Mentoring
Learn how to provide the support and guidance your staff might need in order to fully realize their potential.
Conducting Observations for developmental & for appraisal purposes
Learn how to provide constructive and positive feedback that allows staff to build on their skills and expertise.
Strategic & Operational Planning
Learn how to set overall strategic directions, and then how to put in place an operational plan to translate those strategic directions into action.
Monitoring & Evaluation
Learn how to apply your skills in assessment and evaluation in the classroom to the broader environment of monitoring and evaluating the curriculum and the overall service.
Financial Management for non-finance personnel
Learn how to plan, develop, apply and monitor a budget, and apply a simple decision-making cycle to facilitate good financial management.
Cost
Rp 500,000 per person for a 1-day workshop, which includes tuition, materials, lunch & snacks, and certificate.
