Australia's First National Indigenous Television Service
National Indigenous Television (NITV) is a new 24 hour television
service established by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to
improve the lives of our peoples. With the very best of Australian
content in our programs, we will inform, entertain and educate,
preserve our languages, tell our stories and showcase the rich
diversity of our cultures and creative talent from all over Australia.
i Belong
I Belong shares the rich cultural diversity of Indigenous Australia. The series features communities near and far, including such remote locations as Poruma Island in Torres Strait and Mornington Island in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
I Belong covers Central Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania and more. It’s all a collaborative effort, with remote Indigenous media organisations working together to share their production talents and experience. In addition, many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and first-time program makers have been involved in the filming and editing of this unique series of short films.
