I have written to ask if they would consider some 'arm chair' work from home Board Members. It's too far and difficult for disabled many people to get into the city for meetings etc. Indeed unsafe on some of our public transport if you can even get on it. No wheelchair accessible bus stops anywhere near me. The tram is 10 klms from my place and even then is not low floor and therefore inaccessible to wheelchair users/prams, 4 wheel walkers prams. Good that they will pay any new Board Members not expect voluntary

The reply is that all the Members have to meet in the city (Melbourne). They may be (may be not I guess) be able to help with some taxi fares they say. The thing is it is the long travel time which does not auger well for my disability. I also don't always have someone to help/accompany me. I notice this with other meetings and on HR and for the disabled and seniors - that all the meetings are only in the city. It leaves many of us in the suburbs disenfranchised, and missing out on having a say. Can't believe that sending the Agenda + Minutes to a few of us via email for comment and inclusion would be a problem ? Leaves me feeling very left out
