MISFIT (2001)

Misfit embraces the square peg in the round hole. In a bizarre collision of dance and circus the performers are catapulted into emotional and physical extremes. There are times when no one should be looking but one can not resist. Guilt and intrigue. Misfit presents the private moments when we are too high or too low. Mixing performance with adrenalin and incredible performance apparatus Misfit looks at the inevitable absurdity of trying to fit in.

Misfit examines the incidents and stories of our youth that shape our adult lives. It is a very personal work, which evolved from the dancers' courage and sense of humour. Misfit aimed to provide a sense of standing in someone else's shoes, alternating from the group to the individual.

Misfit marked the international debut of a remarkable piece of stage gear called the Powerskip. Essentially sprung stilts, these fibre glass and aluminum constructions enable the dancers to move across the stage as if it were an enormous trampoline.
